Landscape photography was my entry into photography. For me, it was a way to capture what I was seeing and feeling in a moment. It was less bout taking a good photo of a ridge line and more about putting my experience of the ridge line into a frame to share and revisit. They're not vacation photos or even documentary, they're stories and experiences.
What are you talking about, Doc?
I know, it's kinda nebulous. What's even the difference between hotel art/desktop background photos and art that you buy? The difference is in the intent, the story, the emotion and feeling of a moment captured.
Nature is where I'm most comfortable. The further into the wilderness I go, the better. It's where I feel whole, fully alive, at peace, and present. But you can't stay there forever. Believe you me, I tried. As I work to integrate with Civilization and live authentically from my heart, I use photography to help me process and understand what I'm seeing and experiencing.
And I always have my camera with me to capture what I see and feel and show that to others.
